KERAMTECH – CERAMIC FILTERS
DESCRIPTION :
THESE CERAMIC FILTERS ARE IMPORTED ONE & ARE IMPORTED FROM M/s KERAMTECH S.R.O. These filters are used for Cast Iron, Steel & Aluminium Alloys. It is available in (hole dia) porosity 1.5mm to 3.5mm. Standard produced shapes are – square, round & rectangular plates, supplied in various sizes.
SALIENT FEATURES:
- Open Structure: This structure not only provide efficient metal filtration but also promote a smooth metal flow from the filter to the mould. It reduces turbulence & minimizes the risk of further inclusion formation after filtration. Smooth metal flow also facilitates steady mould filling.
- Efficiency: Effectively removes inclusions by screening & adherence to inner wall of the holes.
- Quality assurance: Close dimensional & weight tolerance is controlled by high process standards.
- Hot strength: Firing at higher temperature results in better hot strength & Excellent thermal strength ( upto 1500OC)
FILTER BENEFITS AT FOUNDRY & MACHINING STAGE :
- Reduced casting rejection % due to slag, sand, dross & un-dissolved inoculants, inclusions of Sulfides & Oxides at both foundry & machining stage.
- Increased Casting % yield & productivity by the use of optimum gating system.
- Increased tool life at machining stage.
- Improved machined surface quality.
FILTER BENEFITS AT APPLICATION STAGE :
- Improved mechanical properties such as tensile strength, ductility & impact strength
- Improved cyclic fatigue properties.
- Improved pressure tightness for castings like Cylinder Heads & Blocks etc.

GUIDELINES FOR SELECTION OF FILTER POROSITY :
Normally for 15mm thickness filters, we propose to use filter hole size 1.5mm for C.I. &2.2mm for S. G. Iron. For 22mm filter thickness,we propose to use hole size 2.0 – 2.3mm for both C.I. & for S. G. Iron.
