EXOTHERMIC SLEEVES - 1600 HM

INTRODUCTION :

ACEFEED-EX-HM is used for feeding all grades of Iron & Steel Castings having high modulus. ACEFEED-EX-HM are available in diameter from 150 to 650 mm & in heights of 150 mm & 200 mm. ACEFEED-EX-HM carries both insulating, exothermic properties, refractoriness 1400-1500oC & offers extended solidification time for feed metal. Thus it will improve feeding efficiency.

APPLICATION :

ACEFEED-EX-HM are having sufficient strength & are suitable for ram up application.

APPLICATION :

Feeding efficiency is high due to the combined properties of Exothermic, Insulating & Higher Refractoriness.
Due to Ferro-static pressure, sleeve will not dilate as it is having sufficient strength & feed safety margin.
It is environmental friendly as it contains low gas.
It is having less tendency for moisture pick-up & helps to minimize defects related to moisture pick-up in sleeves.
Available in various sizes mentioned in the below table.

USAGE GUIDELINES :

Select size of sleeves, according to effective modulus & volume of metal in the sleeves.
While selecting the sleeve size, care should be taken to ensure that the parametric requirements like casting modulus, casting feed volume requirement & the sleeve feeding distance are fulfilled.
While using this sleeves as a top feeder, a pad of 25-40mm between top surface of the casting & the sleeve is recommended to shift hot spot into the pad.
While using this sleeves as top riser, it is important to prevent heat loss from top open face of the sleeve. Hot topping compound will be used to minimize heat loss & to improve feeding performance of sleeves.
