INTRODUCTION :

ACEFEED-EX-ND is used as top feeder for feeding all grades of Iron & Steel Castings. Due to the smaller contact area, it will reduce gas cutting & the grinding work. It offers benefit of the breaker core & in many cases, it is possible to knock off the feeder. The contact diameter of the sleeve is less than 50% of the original diameter of the sleeve thus contact area is minimized. Hence it is suitable where the casting contact area is limited.

APPLICATION :

ACEFEED-EX-ND is used as top feeder to get benefit such as low grinding & low gas cutting work due to reduced opening. It is suitable for ram-up application. It is suitable where space is limited in case of conventional sleeves.

ADVANTAGES :

  • Yield is increased due to less volume in sleeves as compared to conventional sleeves.
  • Reduction in fettling cost & metal loss due to less contact area.
  • It eliminates the gas cutting of risers in Steel castings due to easy knock off of the riser.
  • It carries good properties like insulating, Exothermic & refractoriness 1400-1500OC & carries sufficient strength.

USAGE GUIDELINES :

  • Select size of sleeves, according to effective modulus & volume of metal in the sleeves.
  • While selecting the sleeve size, care should be taken to ensure that the parametric requirements like casting modulus, casting feed volume requirement & the sleeve feeding distance are fulfilled.
  • Handling should be careful to avoid damage of the neck down portion of the sleeves.
